Set in the beautiful Meon Valley just off the A32,  the Prince of Wales in Shirrell Heath sits aside the old Gosport to London Turnpike Road between the villages of Shedfield & Swanmore.

First mentioned around 1870 as the Prince of Wales Beer House, the pub has recently undergone a much needed extensive refurbishment, but has been sympathetically restored in keeping with its age & character. The building pre-dates the pub & is shown on an 1860 map as “Brickfields”. Research at Hampshire Records Office has revealed that the pub was possibly previously a tile & brickworks.   The original fireplaces in the bar have been exposed & we keep the home-fires burning day & night with a log-burner which gives out warmth & a comforting glow during the cold winter. Our ghostly visitor Bert & his dog make occasional visits to check everything is in order!

                                                           We can seat twenty-two people in the main bar.
